What is included in the course package?

The course package you purchase includes unlimited access for 2 months to the videos and PDF files prepared by Pınar Sibirsky, which you will see in the Course content section above. Some of these files are suitable for both reading and saving, while others can only be read. In addition to these digital documents and videos, weekly group Zoom calls with Pınar Sibirsky are also included in the 2-month course package.

Will my baby cry during sleep training?

Your baby is less likely to cry while arranging his sleep hours and establishing his routines. However, if your baby is currently falling asleep with support (rocking, sucking, holding, etc.) and you are starting this training to teach him to lie awake in bed and fall asleep without support (like many families here), when you put your baby awake in bed, your baby will protest this change. There is a high probability that he will cry. The content of the course materials explains in detail and step by step how you can manage this process.

Will sleep training damage the bond of trust between me and my baby?

One of the factors that affects the bond of trust between you and your baby is not your baby's crying, but what you do while he/she is crying. Scientific studies in this field show that attitudes such as remaining unresponsive to babies' cries and leaving them alone for long periods of time while crying can negatively affect the bond between the baby and the caregiver. For this reason, during the sleep training process, being with your baby while he is crying, loving and caressing him, reassuring him with your words, contact and presence forms the basis of our sleep training. Yes, your baby will most likely cry during training, but this cry will be a protest cry, not due to loneliness or indifference, but due to a change in sleeping habits. With the trust and support you will give him during this process, he will learn to fall asleep with pleasure in his bed by getting rid of his old sleeping habits over time.

How can I make sure my baby doesn't have any other problems while crying during sleep training?

Before starting training, it is important that your baby has routine medical check-ups and that your doctor confirms that your baby does not have a condition that may hinder sleep training.

Is it appropriate to start the course while my baby is teething?

Babies teethe very frequently after a certain month. Contrary to popular belief, teething does not prevent sleep training. If you think your baby is having a very difficult teething process, you can use gels and painkillers during this period, if necessary, with your doctor's advice, and start and continue sleep training.

If I decide to sleep train, do I need to stop breastfeeding?

No, there is absolutely no need to stop breastfeeding once you start sleep training. You can do this whenever you want. What you will do in sleep training, if your baby sleeps by breastfeeding, is to break the sucking-sleep relationship and put time between breastfeeding and sleep. Apart from this, you will teach your baby to go back to sleep without sucking when he wakes up at night. If your baby needs night feeding due to his age, you will give this as a sleep meal, that is, you will feed your baby while he sleeps. How to do these is explained in detail and step by step in the course materials.

Should only one person give sleep training to the baby?

No, sleep training can be given to the baby by anyone the baby knows, trusts, and is with frequently. Mother, father, relatives who support their care or caregiver... For example; The mother can put one sleep to sleep, the father can do another sleep, the caregiver/family elders can put another sleep to sleep, or a single person can start and complete the training. The determining factor in this regard is your existing opportunities.

Will my baby sleep uninterrupted at night at the end of the course?

The point you will reach at the end of the course actually depends on your preferences and your baby's reactions. Each baby will have its own unique training process and outcome. You will be able to easily implement and organize your baby's sleep hours, pre-sleep routines and daily routine within the framework of the information I have given you. When teaching your baby to fall asleep without support in bed, you can proceed at a pace that is good for you and him. Some babies are almost "ready" to sleep in bed without support; Even if a baby wakes up many times at night before training, sometimes parents can put the baby to bed and leave the room without falling asleep within a week and observe that their baby has learned to sleep uninterruptedly throughout the night. Sometimes a baby needs more time to get to this point. After a few weeks, even if he's falling asleep in his bed, he may still need you sitting in the room. In summary, at the end of this course, you will have taken very important steps in terms of your baby's daily nutrition-sleep pattern, sleep routines, ability to fall asleep without support, and reducing/eliminating night wakings. You will progress at a pace that is good for you and your baby, and you will complete the training at a point that makes you and your baby happy and allows you to sleep. This end point will differ for each family.

Is the good sleep pattern we will achieve easily disrupted during periods such as vacation, illness or dental work?

As you can see in the course materials, there is a "graduation file" that I have prepared for you to read when you reach the end of the sleep training. In this file, I explained in detail how you can protect your baby's sleep patterns during periods such as holiday, illness and travel. Sleeping order is an order that has been established with great effort and will be maintained with great effort. Everything the baby experiences during the growth process will naturally affect their sleep. However, in such cases, if you follow the steps I have explained in detail in the graduation file and act as planned as possible, you will be able to get through the periods when routines change or difficult periods more easily, and even if there are minor regressions in your baby's sleep patterns, you can return them to your old routine in a few days.

I do not have a separate room for my baby. Can I sleep train in the same room with us or his sibling?

My preference for sleep training is to always have the baby sleep in its own room if possible (twins can sleep in the same room). For this reason, I have often had to change the ironing room or living room (if the living room is used separately) and make a room for the baby. However, sometimes, if there really is no room, there is no room. Then, I can put the baby's bed in the parent's room, at the point that is furthest from the parent's bed, and ask the parents to sleep in another room (maybe on the sofa in the living room), if possible, in the first few days of training. I know it is uncomfortable, but when you sleep in the same room, in the first nights, he may wake up even to the slightest sound of your voice and cry for a long time. Therefore, if he sleeps in the parent's room or in the same room with his sibling, you can ensure that he sleeps alone, at least in the beginning of the training, and continue to sleep in the same room as his night's sleep becomes regular (or at this point, you can move him to the same room with his sibling).

What kind of bed should I give my baby sleep training in?

Definitely on a bed with railings... A park bed is also suitable for training, but we cannot provide sleep training on a floor bed or a Montessori style bed with open sides, where the baby can get out of bed freely. Additionally, if your baby can stand up in bed or is likely to do so soon, the bed rails should be at the highest level so that there is no risk of falling.

I have twins/triplets, can I give them sleep training with this course?

Of course! When I work with twins/triplets, I always try to keep a uniform sleeping pattern. In other words, I want them to wake up at approximately the same time, go to sleep at the same time during the day and at night, fall asleep while seeing and hearing each other in the same room, get used to each other's voices, and even if one of them wakes up at night, the other can continue to sleep. I have worked with hundreds of twin and triplet babies since 2011. What I am telling you may seem impossible right now, but believe me, it is not! Once you overcome the difficulties at the beginning of the training, both you and your children will be very comfortable in the long run. At the end of the sleep training plan, which is included in the course materials, I stated the points to be taken into consideration especially for twins. With them in mind, you can easily benefit from all the course materials for your twins / triplets.

Which method will we use in sleep training?

Our sleep training method in all online courses within Pınar Sibirsky Academy is "Gradual Detachment". Our aim is to gradually reduce the supports you give to your baby (rocking, breastfeeding, etc.) during the current falling asleep phase, and to teach him to fall asleep like us, without these supports in his bed. Because when he can achieve this, he will be able to go back to sleep on his own, without support, even if he wakes up at night. When applying the gradual withdrawal method, you place a chair or cushion next to your baby's bed in the first days and help him get used to falling asleep in his bed with plenty of contact and suggestion until he falls asleep. In the following days, you gradually move your sitting/lying place away from your baby's bed and gradually reduce the support you give until he falls asleep in the first days, so that these do not turn into new sleep addictions. For this reason, we call the method we use "gradual distancing". You will be able to access all the details of the method and application in your Sleep Training Plan when you register for the course.
